Jibe Cycleworks' Top 10 Favorite Maintenance Products
At Jibe Cycleworks, keeping your bike running smooth is required. Over the years, we’ve tested tons of maintenance products, and these are the 10 products we always keep stocked in the shop. Whether you're deep-cleaning a drivetrain or dialing in your suspension, these are our favorite products in no particular order.
1. Buzzy's Slick Honey – The Suspension Whisperer
Got sticky suspension or a tired dropper post? Slick Honey is the gold standard when it comes to servicing seals, bearings, and bushings. It’s ultra-smooth, stays put, and keeps your suspension buttery over the long haul. If it moves and you want it to move smoother, this is your grease.
2. Maxima SC1 – The Shine You Didn’t Know You Needed
Want your bike to look like it just rolled off the showroom floor? Maxima SC1 makes that happen. Originally made for moto plastics, it leaves a glossy protective finish that also repels dirt. And yes, it smells like bubblegum. That’s a win in our book.
3. Shimano Dura-Ace Grease– Precision Grease for Precision Parts
When you're working on hubs, bottom brackets, or headsets, Shimano’s Dura-Ace Grease is a no-brainer. It’s ultra-smooth, super durable, and specifically designed for high-performance components. It’s been a shop staple for years for good reason.
4. SCC Tech Ride It Slick – Chain Lube, Dialed
This is our go-to chain lube. Ride It Slick delivers ultra-low-friction performance with minimal buildup. This chain lube lasts 25 pedaling hours, so don’t over use it! Your drivetrain stays clean, quiet, and efficient—no gritty mess after long miles. A favorite for race-day prep.
5. Orange Seal – Our Go-To Tubeless Sealant
For riders who roll tubeless (and that should be most of you), Orange Seal is our preferred choice. It seals quickly, holds up in varying temps, and doesn’t dry out too fast. We’ve seen it plug some gnarly holes mid-ride, saving more than a few trail days.
6. Tri-Flow – The Pivot Point MVP
There’s a reason Tri-Flow has been around forever—it works. Thin, effective, and loaded with Teflon, it’s ideal for cable housings, derailleur pivots, and anywhere else precision movement matters. Not our top pick for chains anymore, but still an essential in every tech’s tool box.
7. SCC Tech Ride It w/ Flow – The Suspension
Optimized lubricity and cleaning power specifically for forks / shocks and dropper posts. Your bike’s suspension and dropper will engage effortlessly, enhancing both comfort and handling. Not only does it boost performance, but Ride It w/ Flow also keeps your seals and stanchions free from dirt and grime, helping to extend the life of your suspension components.
8. WD-40 – The Classic Multitasker
Let’s set the record straight: WD-40 isn’t a chain lube, but it is still an incredibly useful product. It’s great for breaking free rusted bolts, displacing moisture after a wet ride, and even light cleaning. It’s earned a permanent spot in our work stand drawer.
9. SCC Tech Ride It Clean – Degreasing Done Right
Ride It Clean is our degreaser of choice when the drivetrain gets caked with grime. It's strong enough to break down old lube and trail gunk but still safe for your components and paint. Pair it with a chain cleaning tool or brush set for best results.
10. Maxima Contact Cleaner – Clean, Fast, and Residue-Free
This one’s for the detail-oriented. Maxima Contact Cleaner evaporates fast and leaves no film behind, making it ideal for brakes, clutch levers, and other sensitive components.
There’s no one size fits all solution for bike maintenance but there are products that make it easier, faster, and better. These 10 have stood the test of time in the Jibe Cycleworks service center, and we recommend them to anyone serious about keeping their bike in peak condition.
